Description
“Over the hills and through the woods” is a line from one of our most popular Christmas carols, telling of the travels we take to visit loved ones at Christmas time. As Christmas customs spread throughout the world, Father Christmas was seen traveling through valleys, mountains, fields and woods on his journey to deliver gifts to the children of the world. On his journey through the woods, he would often take time to cut down a small tree to bring to a family as the early European customs was that Father Christmas brought the tree on Christmas Eve, giving the children their first glimpse of the wonder of Christmas on that holy night.
