Description

In northern Germany, it was the custom that the Christkind, or Christ Child, brought the Christmas tree and gifts on Christmas Eve, replacing the image of St. Nicholas who was banned during the Protestant Reformation. As in many traditions that evolve, this Child eventually became Kris Kringle when German immigrants brought their customs to Pennsylvania. Kris Kringle, much like St. Nicholas, is the embodiment of all that is good, generous and kind. His arms are full of toys for the children of the world. His basket is filled with bears, dolls and sweet gingerbread treats. There are plenty of music-making toys, drums and horns that the children will play to joyfully proclaim the arrival of the Christmas season.
